Located in the far south of Chile, Torres del Paine National Park is the ultimate Patagonian experience. This epic journey combines all the park’s highlights, including parts of the famous “W” Trek. Venturing deep into secluded valleys, you will find yourself surrounded by Torres del Paine’s most dramatic scenery. You’ll then take to the water to explore the park’s rivers and glacial lakes on a ferry ride to the edge of the magnificent Grey Glacier. To finish this journey, travel to an authentic Chilean Estancia for horseback riding and a celebratory Chilean BBQ. Challenge:
Weather plays a role in the success of this trek– Patagonia is notorious for high winds. There are also multiple days of hiking outside among uneven terrain, and three nights spent at a private base glamp site.
Reassurance:
Guests will be hiking in lower altitudes along established trails. With excellent guide-to-group ratios, guests can take varying paces throughout the days; If needed, guides can modify the trekking routes to reduce the distance of hikes.

WWTrek Accommodations and Base Glamp
While in Puerto Natales, you will spend four nights in spacious hotel accommodations with access to concierge services and amenities. Resting easily in safe and comfortable accommodations, and staying close to the city center with plenty of time for exploration or shopping.
For three nights of this adventure, we will stay in WWTrek PRIVATE Patagonia Base Glamps! Spending the days hiking three different sections of the “W” Trek and the nights gathered together enjoying delicious meals cooked by our chef in our elevated dining dome. You will sleep in spacious six-person tents at only a two-person occupancy, allowing room to unpack belongings and get cozy!
Fret not! While at our Base Glampsite, you will have access to private restrooms. The lavatory has hot showers, flushing toilets, and fully functioning sinks… just like home!

Welcome to Puerto Natales, Chile
- Arrive in Puerto Natales (PNT) where you will meet your WWTrek guides and take a private transfer to the hotel.
- Our guides will conduct orientation and gear check following a large, private, welcome dinner.

Cerro Benites Hill Hike (1,000')
- Enjoy a half-day hike (4 hours) to Sofia Lake and Benites Hill, home of the majestic Andean Condor. It’s common to see them gliding close to the cliffs.
- We will get a chance to appreciate cave paintings at Milodon Cave. A historic reserve with amazing rock formations and great views of Ultima Esperanza Fjord and Antonio Varas Peninsula.
- Free afternoon to explore Puerto Natales, relax around the lodge, and enjoy the local area.

Base of the Paine Towers Trek (2,500')
- Today we will take private transportation to Las Torres Information Center.
- From here we will trek roundtrip to the Torres del Paine lookout.
- On this day, we will begin and finish our hike admiring the magnificent Paine Towers.
- Enjoy delicious Chilean plates, prepared by our camp chef as you settle in, relax, and take in the beautiful views along the Rio Serrano River where our Patagonia Base Glamp is located.
- Overnight: Patagonia Base Glamp

The French Valley | Explore Los Torres (3,000')
- Today you will have the opportunity to explore French Valley, where the famous 3 Paine Towers are located. Overlooking the North Peak of Paine Grande, Castillo, Cota 2000, Catedral, Aleta de Tiburon, and of course the Paine Horns and the French Glacier.
- Take in the ice-blue glacier-fed lakes and lush vegetation of this beautiful valley along the trail, ending with incredible views of the park’s iconic granite towers.
- Return to our Patagonia Base Glamp, via catamaran, for a well-earned and delicious dinner.
- Overnight: Patagonia Base Glamp

Grey Glacier (800')
- We will begin the day with a scenic drive to Lago Grey Hotel.
- You will embark on a catamaran boat that visits Grey Glacier. The boat gets close to its magnificent blue walls and enormous icebergs floating on the lake.
- Depending on weather conditions, we will choose an amazing half-day hike among Ferrier or Condor lookouts.
- Early arrival at Patagonia Base Glamp to relax and unwind before dinner.
- Overnight: Patagonia Base Glamp

Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers (500')
- We will visit the Bernardo O’Higgins National Park this morning before traveling to Bories Pier at Puerto Natales.
- Continue by boat along the Ultima Esperanza Fjord, meaning “Last Hope”. This fjord was named in 1557 when Spanish Explorer Juan Ladrillera deemed this his last chance to reach the famed Strait of Magellan.
- Enjoy the beautiful views of Bernardo O’Higgins National Park as you cruise down the Serrano River, enjoying lunch at a local BBQ Restaurant.
- Overnight: Vendaval Hotel or comparable

Estancia Laguna Sofia (2,000')
- Today you will have an exciting visit to a local estancia, where you will be immersed in Chilean culture, go horseback riding, and enjoy a celebration lunch or traditional Chilean Asado: Open fire Lamb BBQ.

Best Time of Year to Visit
The optimal travel season in Chilean Patagonia and Torres del Paine National Park consists of November and March. We prefer the month of November as the conditions are the most optimal and least busy.

Customs, Visas, Immigration
U.S. Citizens are not required to obtain a visa for travel in Chile. When you clear customs in Chile, you will be given a PDI slip, and tuck this safely into your passport. You will need to show your PDI slip when you check into hotels and lodges.
*Note: Please be sure to have at least six months’ validity on your passport. Most countries won’t allow travelers in their country unless their passport is expected to expire six months after the last day of travel. Make two copies of your passport. Leave one at home and bring the other with you to Chile in case of an emergency. Ensure you provide a copy of your passport to WWTrek 90 days before your departure date.
Accommodations
Hotels: We will begin and end our trip at sophisticated 4-star luxury lodges situated on the water’s edge with breathtaking views of mountain peaks and fjords. Our last night will be spent in a cozy and beautiful hotel in the quaint town of Punta Arenas.
Patagonia Base Glamp: During our adventure, we will stay at a luxurious camp along the Serrano River. This riverfront camp boasts beautiful views of the entire Paine Massif and has great amenities; including hot showers (fresh towels provided), private bathrooms, comfortable tents, and power for charging devices.
Transportation
During this trip we will travel in private vans, driven by WWTrek guides. The most popular and unique mode of transportation on this trip will be our ferry as we travel along rivers, glacial lakes, and fjords.
Meals
Proper nutrition plays a vital role in the success of all our adventures. Rest assured that we go the extra mile to ensure all meals are nutritious and exquisite. While at our Patagonia Base Glamp, our chef will be preparing delicious meals while we are out exploring. We will also enjoy some traditional Chilean BBQs and dine at great local restaurants in Punta Arenas.
Gratuities
In many parts of the world, gratuities are given in appreciation for a job well done. Our guides will take care of tipping service personnel along the way so that you don’t have to think about it.
For any additional services outside of our itinerary, plan to tip 10% (transport, restaurants, baggage, lodges, etc). We will provide you with detailed tipping recommendations on your ‘Trip Detail’ site once you sign up.
At trail end, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a group tipping pool that will be presented to your WWTrekking guides and trekking staff as we say our goodbyes.
Currency Exchange
We recommend exchanging money at the airport as soon as you clear customs. We will offer additional exchange opportunities, but typically you will receive the best rates at the airport. Exchanging $100 should suit your needs for the trek. We always recommend bringing $500 cash with you on your trip for incidentals and guide gratuities.

Mexican professor Francisco Lizcano, of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, estimated that 52.7% of Chileans were white, 39.3% were mestizo, and 8% were Amerindian.
