The mountains of Rwanda are home to the endangered Silverback gorillas, and captivating Golden Monkey’s. Nestled in the cradle of Volcanoes National Park, the two species have found a way to flourish. In this unique experience, you will be able to observe the gorillas and monkey’s from a safe distance, take in their beauty, and examine them in their natural habitat. After each day, you will recharge in a luxurious Lodge and have time to learn more about the area’s history.

  • You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Kilimanjaro airport (JRO) where you will catch your flight to Kigali.
  • Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative for a briefing about the safari and an introduction to your driver guide.
  • Transfer to Hotel for check-in and Welcome Reception.
  • Overnight: Kigali Serena Hotel or comparable
  • Meals: Welcome Dinner
  • Enjoy breakfast and checkout of the lodge before a visit to the Kigali genocide memorial center, which honors the memory of the more than one million Rwandans killed in 1994 through education and peace-building. 
  • You will be able to watch and listen to some video clips from some of the survivors of the incident. After lunch, you leave for Volcanoes National Park which boasts magnificent views. The rest of the afternoon will be spent at your leisure. 
  • Bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo in Rwanda, the Volcanoes National Park is best known as a sanctuary for the region’s rare mountain gorillas. 
  • While the gorillas are without a doubt the main drawcard, you can also look forward to exploring a network of scenic hiking trails, visiting the tomb of the world-famous Dian Fossey and the Karisoke Research Centre, and enjoying a beautiful day hike to the Crater Lake on Mount Bisoke.
  • Overnight: Igangi Park View Lodge or comparable
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
  • After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters. 
  • You will meet with your ranger who will brief you about the code of conduct while with the gorillas. You will then enter the forest in search of them. 
  • Tracking may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the jungle and your group’s speed as well. Meet and stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour.  
  • After a great experience, you will walk back to the starting point and be transferred to your lodge for lunch. 
  • After lunch, you can decide to relax at the lodge at your leisure or head for a cultural encounter with a walking tour to different sites to get an insight into Rwandan culture.

  • Today after breakfast, you will be picked up by our safari driver guide who will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing and start off your day for a golden monkey search in the jungle. 
  • You will trek through the jungle for 2-6 hours, similarly to Gorilla Tracking, dependent on the movement of the monkey’s.
  • You will later return to the lodge for lunch and later transfer to Kigali, if time allows head for a brief city tour, before your evening airport transfer. (KGL)
