Can’t say enough praise about my experience. Dean and his team were phenomenal — even when my travel and baggage got mixed up by the airline. Arranged a driver, hotel, and found a way to get my bags to me 2 days up the mountain. We saw a lot of trekking companies and guides out there but no one had a better set up than WWT. Worth every penny and more.

We had a fabulous and challenging tour in Iceland. We went places most tourists never see and experienced Iceland in a way that even some residents never have access to. WWT took care of all the details and went the extra mile when necessary to give us the best experience possible.

Our Kilimanjaro Trek was INCREDIBLE!!!!! Amazing experience with professional staff to walk us through each and every step. The guides were incredible, and the whole experience felt super bougie despite camping for 7 days! Staff that made incredible food, set up tents and a table and chairs for us to enjoy each meal, provided our group with our own toilet tents, and carried hot tea up the mountain on summit night to help warm our frozen bodies! Forever grateful for the experience and those that made it possible. We ended the trip with a 4 day safari which included some cultural experiences...truly remarkable.

There may be a lot of competition to take you to Base Camp Everest, and you may be tempted to look at other trekking companies, but trust me, World Wide Trekking, under the leadership of Dean Cardinale is the bespoke trekking tour. From the moment you contact them in the US to the day you meet all your team members in Nepal, and for the remainder of your tour, WWTrekk will be with you all the way.I waited 54 years to climb to Base Camp. This was a journey I had wanted to do for so long and it could not have been more enjoyable, nor a greater experience than it was thanks to Dean and his team and his staff. The greatest experience of my life to date.

TRAVEL NOTES

We recommend trekking the Dolomites in late spring or early summer. This time of year is a little slower in the region, and the weather is spectacular for outdoor adventures.

This trip begins and ends in Venice, Italy. You will fly into and out of Venice Marco Polo Airport, Venice Italy.

* Many guests prefer to leave after, the scheduled itinerary. We can help you make arrangements. Additional charges for early arrival, transportation, lodging, meals, and activities will apply.

International airfares are not included in program pricing. When booking international travel, we recommend working with an experienced travel agent. One that World Wide Trekking is proud to coordinate with is Brian Mei from Eastern Travel. You can reach Brian directly by calling 801.792.1721 or by email at brian@easterntravel.com. Additional support is always available by calling the Eastern Travel Office at 801.466.8811 or by emailing Michelle at michelle@easterntravel.com.

The benefit of using a travel agent is in the event of itinerary changes, the travel agent will find the best flight connections, and land arrangements, for you. Though third-party travel websites are convenient, we do not recommend using them, due to instability in the itineraries. We also recommend that you protect your flight with travel insurance and a refundable ticket.

We also recommend that you protect your flight with travel insurance and a refundable ticket. Contact AIG Travel Guard to get more information.

We recommend you safeguard your trip by purchasing travel insurance. World Wide Trekking has partnered with AIG Insurance as our preferred travel insurance provider. For a price quote, or to purchase travel insurance, visit:

*Note: Please be sure to have at least six months validity on your passport. Most countries won’t allow travelers in their country unless their passport is expected to expire six months after the last day of travel. Make two copies of your passport. Leave one at home and bring the other with you to Peru, in case of an emergency. Ensure you provide a copy of your passport too WWTrek 90-days prior to your departure date.

Throughout our journey, we will be staying in select premium hotel accommodations in the heart of some of the Dolomites premiere alpine villages.

The lift system gives us access from the village bottom up into the high alpine terrain where we will enjoy hiking throughout the Dolomites. At the end of our hiking day, we will return via gondola, chair lifts, or cable cars back down to the alpine villages far below.

The Dolomite Mountains have numerous mountain refugees where we will enjoy delicious alpine lunches with stunning views.

Our stringent commitment to safety means you have access to our medically certified guides before and throughout your trip. Our staff also carries emergency medical equipment such as satellite communicators and medical kits.

Prior to the trip, you will need to get a few prescriptions from your physician: Diamox for altitude sickness, Cipro for stomach ailments, and Z-Pack for respiratory ailments. In addition, we recommend visiting your local International Travel Clinic one month before your trip. Needed vaccinations include a current tetanus shot, annual influenza shot, Varicella, Typhoid, Hep A, and MMR.

Helpful over the counter medications include Imodium Ad, throat lozenges, ibuprofen, eye drops, and any other personal medications you may need.

For more information, feel free to contact us directly with any questions, at 801-943-0264. We can reschedule a phone call with our medical advisor, Dr. Levy, to answer any specific questions regarding your personal needs.

In many parts of the world, gratuities are given in appreciation for a job well done. Our guides will take care of tipping service personnel along the way so that you don’t have to think about it.

For any additional services outside of our itinerary, plan to tip 10% (transport, restaurants, baggage, lodges, etc). We will provide you with detailed tipping recommendations on your ‘Trip Detail’ site once you sign up.

At the trails end you will have the opportunity to contribute to a group tipping pool that will be presented to your WWTrekking guides and trekking staff as we say our goodbyes.

You will have the opportunity to exchange money after your WWTrek guide escorts you from the airport. You can easily exchange money at gift shops in both Venice and the other villages we visit. Exchange money as you go using your credit card or cash for your personal expenses at the lodge. Typically, our guests spend about $1,000 for various personal expenses, souvenirs, and incidentals.
