Training For Your Adventure

Congratulations for taking the time to invest in your health and fitness and book a fantastic trip with World Wide Trekking!

Training for our active trips helps to ensure guest safety, success, and enjoyment. Before booking a trek with us, we suggest contacting one of our Adventure Specialists and visiting our Activity Ratings page to learn about the different challenge levels our trips cater to. Choosing one that fits you will allow you to get the most out of your experience.

In order to help you prepare for your trek, we have enlisted the help of a health and fitness specialist, Barton McGuckin, who can guide you as you train and prepare for a trip of a lifetime.

The following resources are included with your WWTrek Trip:

1.  Six week Fitness Program & 1:1 Virtual Coaching Session
2.  Six week Nutrition Program & 1:1 Virtual Coaching Session
3.  Guidance and support from a fitness and nutrition specialists for anything health & fitness related

Where To Start

  1. Read through both the fitness and nutrition plans, and watch the videos to learn how to correctly do the recommended exercises.
  2. Complete the Fitness Score exercise to determine where you are at.
  3. Now that you are better equipped to ask questions and get the most out of your virtual 1:1 session, contact us to schedule your coaching sessions with Barton. This will bring you to our Fitness and Nutrition Registration Form. Please fill out all required forms. Once you have completed and signed this form, the top right-hand corner of your screen will indicate a green DONE button. When done, your form will be sent automatically to us. We will then contact you to set up your session with the Specialist!

We understand that each guest is unique and may prefer differing fitness and nutrition plans. Barton has put together upgraded training plans for guests who wish to have a more hands-on experience. Plan examples are shown below, and Barton is always happy to go over details and pricing with you. 

Silver

  • 12 Week Package
  •  3 x 4 week Fitness plans
  •  3 x 4 week Nutrition plans
  • 1 x Skype call initially with Barton 
  • Troubleshooting via SMS / email

Gold

  • 12 Week Package
  • 3 x Fitness plans to be adjusted every 4 weeks in Skype coaching call with Barton
  • 3 x Nutrition plans to be adjusted every 4 weeks in Skype coaching call with Barton
  • Calls at weeks 0, 4, 8, 12
  • Troubleshooting via SMS / email

Premium

  • 12 Week Package
  • Fitness plans to be adjusted every week in consultation with Barton
  • Nutrition plans to be adjusted every week in consultation with Barton
  • Accountability via weekly Skype coaching calls with Barton
  • Daily Accountability & check-ins via SMS / email
